Instead of the colors of the flag, Italy started wearing a blue jersey in 1911 as a tribute to the country’s royal family. Since then, Italy has worn home color blue for international competitions. Gli Azzurri have only missed two World Cups in it history, the very first in 1930, and failing to qualify in 1958. However, four victories in 1934, 1938, 1982 and 2006 place them tied for second on all-time the winners list. The club has included legends known worldwide, including top scorer Luigi Riva, the most capped player
Gigi Buffon, Roberto Baggio , and Andrea Pirlo.

For the 2018 World Cup, PUMA presents an eye-catching addition to a history of iconic shirts. Accent color navy trims the collar, adding the colors of the national flag to line the cuffs. A mini flag sits on the upper back. PUMA Formstripe grip on the sleeves.

A newly designed team badge makes its debut. The shield shape has been altered, and the FIGC logo and four stars have been re-positioned.
